Quality is assured by complying with the guidelines listed below.
  • Generally speaking, avoid unfavorable weather conditions – such as wind, cold, heat, dryness, or water-logging – when planting.
  • Prepare the soil carefully in advance – the soil should be fine-grained and crumbly to avoid the formation of air pockets when planting.
  • When planting, the soil temperature should be above 8 °C.
  • Before planting, the roots of the trees must be soaked in water at least once overnight (in crates, trailers, or ditches).
  • Avoid exposing the trees to dryness, wind, and sun for longer periods, i.e. the trees should be fetched from the damp container continuously in packets!
  • When planting, cover the roots with enough moist earth (at least 20 cm) and tamp it down well in order to guarantee good contact between the roots and the soil.
  • In the case of unfavorable weather conditions (wind, heat, dryness), the trees must be treated with white mineral oil in order to protect them against drying out.
  • Immediately after planting, the trees must be doused with 8-10 liters of water per tree, and they must also be watered with 5 liters per tree (or 10 mm of precipitation) 2-3 times per week – avoid water-logging, as this would promote the growth of fungi.
  • Do not use any peat or similar substrate material insofar as this can greatly reduce soil contact.
